Ohio Team Gameplan
Hey all!
As some of you have recently heard, I have taken over as Ohio Team contact. The one thing I pride myself with is radical transparency. So, just to start to clarify a bit, I’d like to outline my plan of action with the team, so that any team members, or members of the community at large can contribute in a meaningful way.
Here is my outline.
I) A restructure of team management.
A) Change to a decentralized structure
B) Move team decisions to team members
II) Increase the transparency of the Team
A) Weekly Newsletters / Reports
B) Add in new team management software. Keep all decisions and action items public.
III) Team Involvement
A) Ohio is massive. Create a large virtual footprint that we can all engage in, even if we are physically distant
B) Keep members active by constant LoCo activity.
C) Create an active presence on social networks
B) give back to the community of Ohio
IV) Reward Active Users
A) Work out benefits for active members.
B) Focus on integration with nearby LoCos, and LUGs
With a bit of luck, and some never-ending persistence, I think we can get Ohio LoCo as active as ever!
More to follow!

Dude! NY State has several of the same issues… keep me posted on what you try to bridge the gap of distance.
@cprofitt: You got it! I’ll be publishing any works I come up with under either a FDL or GPL. I’ll keep you up-to-date with this stuff, and I’ll be sure to blog it a whole lot!
Great ideas, Paul. I’ll try to think of some sort of incentive idea as well. I really like the newsletter idea as well.
@mathay: Thanks man, can’t wait to see how it plays out!
